I support lower taxes and fewer big government regluations to create an environment that supports small businesses and more jobs. I realize that our nation’s economic health is on the verge of recession, and that Ohio’s economy is leading both contributing to and drowning because of this situation. Ohio, with all of it’s resources, can be a leader in pulling our nation out of it’s downward spiral, but we must reduce our elevated tax burden become more business friendly.
Last year, Congressman Kaptur maintained her big government track record by casting votes that pave the way for some of the largest tax increases in history, including a $4 billion dollar tax increase on companies that invest here in the U.S. and provide jobs for American workers. She also continued to play the puppet to special interest groups who jockey for political control instead of protect small businesses and american jobs.
In 2007, Congressman Kaptur:
● voted for the House Democrat Budget which paves the way for the largest tax increase in history (Roll No. 212)
● voted for the Budget Conference Report which opens the door for one of the largest tax increases in history and a raid on Social Security (Roll No. 377)
● voted to strip workers of their right to a secret ballot in union organizing elections (Roll No. 118)
● voted to raise her own taxpayer-funded salary (Roll No. 580)
