Every day, the job market in Ohio is getting tougher and tougher. Employers are closing up shop and moving, or simply closing up shop. Our area is not equipped to deal with economic changes, so we are falling behind the rest of the world. In 2006, I proposed a retraining program for displaced workers that would aid us in becoming a market for innovation and development and bring new jobs to our area. The energy industry would be our initial focus. Alternative energy investments would create over 22,500 new jobs with current Ohio companies. Opening ANWR for oil exploration will create 31,900 new Ohio jobs.
Congressman Kaptur has repeatedly sided against job creation and retention, small businesses that hire Ohio workers and large corporations that create good Ohio jobs. She has pushed for higher taxes and more regulations. At the same time, she has blindsided American workers by allowing their jobs to be taken from them while pledging her support to their cause.
Last year, Congressman Kaptur:
● voted to strip workers of their right fair union organizing elections (Roll No. 118)
● voted for a $4 billion tax increase on companies that create American jobs (Roll No. 746)
● voted for allowing illegal aliens to infiltrate union ranks (Roll No. 117)
